Keeping Up With The Evolution of DeFI On NEAR: KYVE Network, Mixin Network, and Travala
DeFi is booming on NEAR, and every day NEAR sees the rise of new applications, new partnerships and actively invests in promising projects. To keep up with all that is happening in the ecosystem is an arduous task, but hopefully this series will make this a little bit easier for the NEAR community :)
In today’s article we are going to talk about new partnerships, namely, KYVE Network, Mixin Network, and Travala.
NEAR Protocol’s New Partnerships
KYVE Network: The Data Trust Protocol
KYVE is a decentralized protocol that enables data providers to standardize, validate, and permanently store data streams. Leveraging Arweave (a decentralized data storage protocol that allows you to store documents and applications in perpetuity on a permanent internet), KYVE ensures scalability, immutability, and availability of data over time. KYVE found the support of top VCs such as Hypersphere Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, Mechanism Capital, CMS Holdings, and blockchains such as Arweave, Avalanche, Solana, Interchain, and NEAR.
On the 8th of December KYVEN Network announced its partnership with NEAR Protocol:
From now on, developers from the NEAR ecosystem will be able to use KYVE as a storage and validation solution for their data streams. This will allow to securely store and readily access data, solving the problem of data storage and verifiability.
Mixin Network: The Decentralized Network for light and fast transfer of digital assets
Mixin Network is an open-source, decentralized Web3 platform focused on speed and scalability. Mixin Network allows blockchains to gain trillions of TPS, sub-second final confirmation, zero transaction fee, enhanced privacy and unlimited extensibility.
At the beginning of November, NEAR and Mixin Network partnership was announced:
The partnership will start off with the integration of NEAR into Mixin Messenger, Mixin Network’s wallet and will expand progressively into a deeper strategizing cooperation in market promotion and community expansion. This cooperation will greatly benefit the NEAR ecosystem that will see the influx of Mixin’s community.

Travala: The Blockchain Traveling Company
Travala is the world’s leading blockchain-based travel booking platform. Through Tavala, users get access to the best travel deals by conveniently paying in crypto. Founded in 2017, Tavala offers a wide selection of incredible places to stay, from hotels, to apartments, villas etc. Additionally, Travala counts 230 countries and territories among its destinations offering prices that are up to 40% cheaper than mainstream travel booking platforms.
On the 15th of November, Travala announced a strategic partnership to integrate NEAR Protocol’s token on the travel website’s platform:
This partnership will allow NEAR token holders to get access to Travala’s deals, that is, to over 2.2 million hotels and homes, 600+ airlines, and 40.000+ activities in 230 different countries. Additionally, NEAR Protocol will be using Travala’s corporate services for the company’s internal travel requirements.
This partnership is particularly significant because it will help attract users to the Web3 world and allow its community to have access to a cheaper and fairer travel experience.
